Norbert Dentressangle UK moves into profit

09 July 2007

Norbert Dentressangle UK has described its move into profit as a "good foundation for the future". Managing director Patrice Schneider says the firm is still interested in acquiring a logistics business in the UK market with a turnover of £50m. "We've changed a lot of the structure of the company and the acquisitions of the 1990s took time to integrate," he adds.

"The results are a good foundation for the future and we have a very good brand name, not just here in the UK but throughout  Europe." The French-owned company's pre-tax profit for the year to December 2006 was £1.52m compared with a £752,000 pre-tax loss in 2005. Operating profit for 2006 was £1.57m, up from a loss of £678,000 in 2005. Turnover increased by 5% to £40.3m from £38.4m.
