Amtrak aims to double business

09 July 2007

Express parcels firm Amtrak wants to double its international business over the next year. Managing director Alan Jones says research has shown that potential customers only associate the firm with UK deliveries.

The company, bought by Jones and a team of directors in January, has spent the past 18 months developing partnerships with companies around Europe: It has also upgraded its IT systems and introduced new tariffs and systems to promote clarity of billing.

"We now need to  ensure that our international service is equally well-known. I have no doubt that we will reach our target of doubling our international turnover in the next 12 months," Jones says.
