Renault goes for air freight

17 July 2007

Sixteen new Renault trucks with two-pedal control have been put on the road by Heathrow-based Plane Handling for air cargo collection and delivery work. The ten 4x2 Premium tractors and six Midlum 18-tonne four-wheelers were supplied through Renault Trucks South in Reading. They are the first Renaults to join the company's 65-stong fleet, replacing a mixture of Volvo, MAN, DAF and Iveco chassis. Thirteen more Midlum 18-tonners are on order. Plane Handling's transport business manager Kevin  Hutchins says a three-year buy-back option in the dealer's finance package helped clinch the deal.
