Ten new Iveco Daily vans are being put into service by Gallagher the Manchester-based public utilities company, which undertakes road surface reinstatement and repairs and emergency work dealing with incidents like burst water mains. They will operate from Gallagher's four depots, in Trafford Park, Derby, Leicester and Liverpool, with an expected service life of around 25,000 miles over three years.
The 4-tonne vans, supplied by Iveco dealer North East Truck and Van, are fitted out with compressors for powering pneumatic tools, and the fully-lined bodies are equipped with racking for tools and materials. They have drawbar towing hitches allowing trailers carrying mini-diggers or other equipment to be transported, at up to the Daily 40C15's plated 7-tonne gross train weight.
