Asda is to implement Isotrak's transport management system with the aims of significantly reducing its carbon footprint, improving service quality between distribution centres (DCs) and stores, and creating better-structured working conditions for drivers.
By introducing real-time vehicle tracking, Asda hopes to work towards its Integrated Transport Optimisation objectives: reducing fuel consumption and carbon footprint improving driver communication and safety improving the delivery experience for stores enabling real-time scheduling monitoring chill chain integrity and eliminating empty running.
Isotrak's Active Transport Management System is a modular system that fuses satellite vehicle tracking with transport management and connection to the vehicle's engine management system. This allows transport managers to observe, record and model every aspect of their vehicle fleet performance in real time, including precise location, drop-off times and driving characteristics.
