25 July 2007

John Mitchell (Grangemouth) says that it is pleased with its financial performance over the past year. The firm reveals turnover has increased in line with expectations, and it "considers the results and the financial position of the company to be satisfactory".

Turnover for the central Scotland haulage and storage company was up 20% in the year to March 2007, to £9.3m from £7.7m the previous year. Pre-tax profit also leapt to £137,864 from £3,988 in 2006.  Operating profit climbed to £154,132  in 2007 from £43,535 the year before. However, no dividends will be paid out for the 2007 financuial year.

The company will save up to £2,000 a truck thanks to an updated livery on its latest order of 28 MAN TGA tractor units, which sees the firm drop its traditional red and grey paint job in favour of plain white under its regular graphics.
