Charity benefits from Elddis livery

27 July 2007

Elddis Transport, based in Consett, County Durham, is swapping its traditional blue-and-yellow livery for a new design in order to raise a targeted £50,000 over the course of the next three years for a local hospice.

The company's 250th Mercedes Actros, which goes on the road on July 1, is decked out in green and white to show the firm's support for the Willow Burn Hospice in nearby Lanchester, also in County Durham. Elddis is pledging to donate 15p for every mile the Euro 4 Actros 2546  vehicle covers.

It will be used for general haulage but will also visit shows and events to promote the cause. Elddis says those interested can track the truck's progress and make their own donations by visiting the website.
