Tuffnells Parcel Express has been successful in a bid to base 16 vehicles and 10 trailers at Lockerbie after giving the Scottish TC Joan Aitken a number of undertakings. The Sheffield-based company appeared before the TC at a Lockerbie public inquiry following environmental objections from neighbours.
However, the TC granted authority for the Lockerbie depot after undertakings were given that it would ensure all employees and visiting contractors parked their vehicles
within the site and not in Bridge Street that all vehicles would enter and leave in forward gear and to review working practices should there be complaints from neighbours about reversing manoeuvres using reversing bleepers between 10pm and 6.30am.
