Dennis upgrades Eagle

Tuesday 31 July 2007 12:00

Dennis Eagle is due to introduce a host of changes to its latest chassis, cab and body. On the body front, the Duo recycling unit is the first to be developed specifically for kitchen waste. It features a four cubic metre top-loading pod located immediately behind the cab. The recycling pod is made from lightweight aluminium, is fully sealed and is suspended in a steel framework.

Improvements to the Elite 2 cab will be made from October and include more ergonomical seats and controls. Changes to the Elite 2 chassis will see the integration of step controls from the body controller to the chassis and a re-engineered fuse board is designed to provide increases in capacity while being easier to access from within the cab. There will also be a Euro-5 version of the Dennis Eagle's Volvo Penta engine, with two different power ratings - 290/213 and 320/235 hp/kW.
