Expect Distribution to relocate to Bradford

02 August 2007

Expect Distribution, newly crowned as Motor Transport's Haulier of the Year, has unveiled plans to open a new 100,000sq ft headquarters in Bradford.

The firm says the move is still at the planning stage, but is hopeful that its new depot, located just off Junction 2 of the M606, will be ready by June next year.

Operations director Neil Rushworth  says the company has outgrown its current Halifax site, where the firm started operations in 1988.

He adds: "It's a case of us stretching the current site to the limit now the move will give us better efficiencies and room for the company to grow."

Rushworth says staff are on-board: "They are as excited as we are to move into somewhere that will help them do their jobs better."

The new depot will be split 50-50 between distribution and warehousing. The firm will use the move to launch a new business, Expect Warehousing.

Although the bulk of Expect's operations will move out of Halifax, it will still retain its current site. The firm had previously applied for planning permission to expand the depot at Listers Road but was twice refused on environmental grounds.
