Transhaul's southern expanded warehouse already full

02 August 2007

Transhaul says its expanded warehouse in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, is "already full".

The firm, which took delivery of three new trailers and a new Scania R480 LA6x2 truck last week, says turnover is approaching £5m and it has achieved the 40% growth forecast for 2006.

Transhaul doubled capacity at Leighton Buzzard to 120,000sq ft in April after the closure of its Tebay, Cumbria, depot last December.

"We decided to let go of Tebay  to develop in the south," says managing director Nigel Machado, adding that the growth in business meant "we needed to concentrate on what we're doing down here".

Transhaul is awaiting arrival of two new Scania P314 DB6x2 curtainsiders to work exclusively on Pallet-Track operations, as it now puts more than 100 pallets a night through the pallet network.
