North Western traffic commissioner Beverley Bell has revoked the licences of Widnes-based Algos Container Services and Atherton-based David Casey, trading as Algos Transport. The TC also disqualified the company, its director Heidi Price and Casey from holding an O-licence indefinitely. She said she could not be satisfied about the repute, financial standing or professional competence of either operator.
Bell said Algos Container Services had been dissolved in January 2006. When the licence was granted David Price had been nominated as transport manager. In December 2006 the current transport manager nominated on both the company and Casey's licences had resigned.
Companies House records showed Casey had connections with two companies named Algos Container Services and two companies named Algos Transport. The first container company was dissolved in January 2006 and the second went into liquidation in May 2007. The first transport company had been dissolved in November 2003 and the second appeared not to have any directors but to be still active.
