Van and truck registrations are getting close to 2006 volumes, at 380,664 units for the year to date (YTD), according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). Trucks were up 27.8% for July but down 21.4% for the YTD vans were up 14.1% for July and up 2.7% for the YTD.
SMMT chief executive Christopher Macgowan says: "Van registrations look better, but while truck registrations
still show the scars of last year's market distortions we're confident that the recovery will continue - though supply problems may skew the positive outlook."
