Commercial Motor operations editor Colin Barnett this week handed over a cheque for £400 to chief executive Angus Somerville and administrator Natalie Lamb from the charity Orchid.
Orchid, based at London's St Bartholomews hospital, specialises in research into male cancer and was the chosen recipient in CM's annual charity competition.
Barnett explains: "Each year we run a readers' quiz and to encourage entries, we pledge a donation to a charity which we feel is relevant to our readers. This year we chose Orchid, the only charity to conduct research into the three specifically male cancers - prostate, testicular and penile.
"As well as research, Orchid is active in raising awareness of these life-stealing problems which are frequently allowed to become more serious because of embarrassment and denial."
