Fuel prices are likely to rise for the rest of 2007 and into 2008, according to a specialist in fuel management software. Andy Leech, business leader at CFC Solutions, says hauliers need to "identify wasteful drivers, check which vehicles use more fuel and steer drivers towards cheaper outlets."
He adds: "It seems that once or twice a year fuel prices start to spiral due to external factors and fleet managers suddenly come under pressure to act - often from within their own company - and put some form of management control in place. However, as the fuel price headlines fade, so too often does the fleet manager's interest in the subject."
