AW Jenkinson Forest Products has taken delivery of its first '57'- plate truck, a Euro 4 Volvo FH. It is part of an order for 100 similar-spec Volvos, which when all delivered, will take its total fleet size to 240.
The Penrith-based haulier, which carries wood-fibre, bark, paper products and recyclables, is currently running a mixed Scania and Volvo fleet - allowing it to experience both EGR and SCR technology. Transport manager Brian Blenkharn explains that it is too early to tell which
is best on fuel, although says initial indications are that the Volvos might have a slight edge.
