Rubgy-based logistics firm Lloyd Fraser says it is on target to post strong results for the year ending August 2007: it says that turnover will be in the region of £85m with pre-tax profits of around £2m. Two years ago (2004-05) its results were hit after two customers went under owing Lloyd Fraser substantial sums.
Neil McConchie, chairman and managing director, says that this year has seen strong trading: “We made a very good recovery in 2005-06 and the pleasing thing this year is that we have maintained that position. “We don’t want bad years – it was very disappointing because t was the only time in 20 years of trading that we have not been in profit.”
The firm has recently embarked on an ambitious growth plan to boost turnover by 10% year-on-year. McConchie adds: “We have fought shy of acquisitions in the past, but they are a strong contender for growth going forwards.”
