Insulated curtainsiders have improved scheduling flexibility on fresh milk deliveries, according to Cotteswold Dairies of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
The company has just added four new carrier-refrigerated curtain-sided Gray & Adams (G&A) tri-axle trailers to its mixed 80-vehicle fleet. They were built at G&A's Newtonabbey plant in Northern Ireland.
The curtainsiders allow ready access to all parts of the load, which is not possible with regular fixed-sidewall reefers.
It means that routing and delivery drop order is no longer critical at the time of loading, explains Cotteswold director George Workman, who adds that G&A's long-standing reputation in the refrigerated trailer field has been borne out in the thermal performance of the four new trailers.
