Felixstowe, Suffolk-based Hanbury Davies has taken delivery of 100 Euro-5 Volvo FH480 6x2 tractors, supplied via Hanbury Riverside of West Thurrock by MC
Truck and Bus of Maidstone.
Hanbury Davies managing director Ian Wilson says that as a national company, "It is crucial we have full support for our trucks - something the Volvo Dealer Network consistently provides across the UK. The Volvos are proven and reliable, and are very acceptable from a drivers' point of view. The new Euro-5 engine range has performed well on fuel and Volvo residual values are strong when it comes to resale. All these aspects together, combined with minimal downtime, results in whole-life costs that are lower than that of the competition."
The fleet comprises a mixture of 480 and 520hp 6x2 tractors, all with Globetrotter XL cabs with Prestige trim. Some are equipped with Volvo's I-Shift automatic gearbox in an attempt to cut operating costs.
