KN holds driver competition

17 October 2007

KN Drinks Logistics has held its annual Driver of the Year competition. More than 70 competitors from around the UK took part in the event at the Prodrive facility in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Drivers completed a series of road-based exercises. These included dealing with a road traffic accident scenario and driving in a confined space.

The event aims to raise safety awareness and promote good driving practice throughout the organisation. Three separate competitions were held on the day  and the winners were:

  • Dray Driver/Mate of the Year: David King and Graham Walker from Livingston.
  • Primary Driver of the Year: Haydn Davies from Hereford.
  • Fork Lift Truck Driver of the Year: Sean Headspeath from Livingston.

KN Drinks Logistics is a part of Kuehne + Nagel and handles distribution for the drinks industry.

Patrick Henry, Kuehne + Nagel driving development manager, says: "Kuehne + Nagel invests significantly in driver training and the event highlights the importance of best practice, particularly in the area of drinks delivery, where specific skills are required." He adds: "It is also an enjoyable event for all employees, which encourages team spirit."
