Pay settlements for transport lower than economy

25 October 2007

Pay settlement levels for those in the transport and distribution sector at all levels are depressed compared with the rest of the economy, says pay research specialist Croner Reward.

Croner's latest report finds that for the year to June 2007, pay settlements for management staff in the industry were worth 3%, slightly down from the 3.1% recorded for the rest of the economy. But for operative workers, including drivers and warehouse employees, settlement levels were an average 2.7%.
