Highways Agency consults on roadside facilities

30 October 2007

The Highways Agency has launched a public consultation on its draft policy for roadside service facilities. The policy document considers whether motorway service areas and other rest stops should be closer together and what types of provisions should be made for truck drivers.

The report also considers how truckstops should be signposted from motorways and trunk roads, as well as whether mobile traders  should be allowed to serve food in lay-bys. Comment on the policy can be made via the HA website.
