Tesco.com has signed a six-year deal with Northgate, which will see the van rental specialist supply it with 130 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311 CDI long-body chassis cabs. The vans, which are supplied on a six-year deal, will join a fleet of 2,000 vans - the bulk of which are also Sprinters. They have GAH refrigeration units and Solomon insulated bodies, with separate compartments for ambient, chilled and frozen products.
Tesco.com fleet manager Dino Papas explains that the company is committed
to maintaining a broad supplier base, and Northgate becomes the third contract hire partner. "We're starting quietly, on a relatively small scale, but this new partnership has got off to a very good start," he says. "I'm confident that Northgate is going to make a valuable contribution to our future success."
