HGV strikes bridge in Blackburn

Train services were disrupted after a truck carrying paper struck a railway bridge and overturned in Blackburn. The accident occurred at 3.40pm on Friday 9 November at the junction of Great Bolton Street and Darwen Street.

The driver managed to climb free of the vehicle a Lancashire police spokeswoman say the fire service was called in to clear the scene. Train services were disrupted until 7.30pm and the town centre became heavily congested.
