The European Commission (EC) has agreed a standard approach to the enforcement of driving times registered by digital tachographs. Digitachs are known to round up driving times drivers doing multidrops find that using a digitach can take them over their driving times when an analogue tacho would not have done so.
Joan Williams, head of road freight and enforcement policy at the Freight Transport Association, says
the EC has agreed that enforcement agencies across Europe should allow drivers to be up to 15 minutes over their 4½ hours' driving time if they can prove they have been doing multidrop work.
