The haulage consortium Linq Alliance has boosted its turnover by 89%, but declines to reveal the latest figure. Although Linq is registered with Companies House it only has to file abbreviated accounts because it qualifies as a small company, even though it was formed in 2003 by 25 hauliers.
This means its accounts do not have to record turnover. To qualify as a small company under Companies House rules a firm has to meet at least two of the following three conditions:
- Turnover must be not more than £5.6m
- The balance sheet total must be not more than £2.8m
- The workforce must not exceed 50
The chairman of Linq is Meachers Transport MD Bob Terris.
