Liverpool-based Bibby Distribution says it is still on the acquisition trail.
In September, the company took a 51% stake in the supermarket group Costcutter, but Iain Speak, chief executive, tells MT there are a couple of other potential deals "still in progress".
He adds: "They always seem to take longer than you expect and for obvious reasons we have to be very careful with confidentiality. We have had a very good year and have lots of initiatives and plans for 2008 and beyond."
Speak says the Bibby takeover of Costcutter has worked out "very well so far".
