Fuel protests fizzle out

17 December 2007

The fuel price protests planned for fuel refineries and depots across the country on Saturday were sparsely attended; according to the BBC, only a single pensioner turned up at Purfleet in Essex, while nobody at all protested at Grangemouth. However, the RHA's 'rolling protest' of trucks along major Scottish roads did attract 45 vehicles.

Campaigning organisation Transaction 2007 has failed to make a statement; its website  says only:

TransAction will be issuing a new release on Monday 17th December

Thank you to those who attended the demonstrations over Saturday.
