Transaction 2007 concedes defeat on fuel protests

Transaction 2007 says it has “conceded defeat” and that the Road Haulage Association was right to say there was little appetite for fuel protests.

Founder Mike Presneill (pictured) contacted Motor Transport to say the pressure group “accepts” that RHA members were not up for fuel refinery protests around the country.

“The best man won. We accept they [the RHA] were right in their assumption,” Presneill says.

He adds that “the turnout for the haulage industry was  pathetic. We were inundated with calls to get this underway and they never followed through!”

Presneill speaks after the poor turnout for a series of protests around the country last weekend. He insists that there was a turnout but “nothing like the indications told us”.

He is adamant that “they [the RHA] haven’t won the war. That was Round 1.”
