The roll-on RO-RO ferry link between Ipswich and Ostend is about to be resumed, says Associated British Ports (ABP). The service, which was abruptly axed by Ferryways last June, will be restored by Dart Line, part of the Cobelfret group ABP says a schedule will be released soon.
The closure of the service, shortly after Ferryways was acquired by Cobelfret, had a big knock-on effect
at the Ipswich port. The T&G section of Unite said at the time that it cost 44 jobs at the port. ABP will provide Dart Line with space at the West Bank terminal of Ipswich port.
