NETV steps into Seddon’s shoes

06 February 2008

Truck dealer North East Truck & Van (NETV) is to launch a refuse vehicle, having seen a gap in the market left by the demise of Seddon Atkinson. The newcomer, which has been developed with Iveco, is based on an Iveco Eurocargo. NETV's engineering division fits a hydraulically steered mid-axle, road-friendly parabolic suspension and intarder, then re-plates  it at 26 tonnes.

Other features include a five or six-man crewcab, Allison transmission and Heil refuse bodywork. "We spotted a niche in the market," says Sandy McDonald, NETV managing director. "Seddon Atkinson used to do quite well with this vehicle and we anticipate doing about 100 a year." The truck will be launched at this year's CV Show.
