A driver was threatened with a handgun when he tried to stop robbers taking 300 televisions from his truck in a Derbyshire lay-by. The curtainsider, operated by a Polish firm and driven by a Pole, was parked on a bridge over the M1 at Barlborough, near Chesterfield, when the robbery took place in the early hours of Tuesday 29 January.
The driver was asleep in his cab when the robbery began he was threatened with the handgun after waking up and challenging the thieves.
Police believe another truck was used to transport the goods and one of the cars the offenders drove off in was a dark Audi. Police are appealing for any witnesses to the robbery, which happened between 12am and 4am.
