FTA wins time on sideguard safety

The Freight Transport Association says it has won concessions from VOSA and the DfT over the issue of a lack of sideguards on vehicles with truck-mounted cranes. VOSA was due to start failing trucks without full-length sideguards in place at annual test but the FTA says this has now been deferred until a solution to the problem can be found.
