The European Parliament's economics committee wants the EU minimum rate of excise duty on diesel raised from E302/1,000lit to the unleaded petrol level of E359/1,000lit by 2015, with Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria and Romania having until 2016. The existing differential "distorts the market", MEPs say.
