The Forth Road Bridge became toll-free on Monday, with the majority of toll booths already removed. Forth Estuary Transport Authority (FETA) convener Tony Martin says: "This is the beginning of an exciting new era for the Forth Road Bridge and FETA is determined to make a success of it.
"We're confident traffic flows will improve significantly when the scheme is complete." Three toll booths have already been removed and a two-lane carriageway has been constructed through the toll plaza. The remainder of the toll booths will be removed over the coming weeks.
FETA is also informing people that unused toll vouchers can be claimed back until 9 May 2008. To claim a refund either call FETA for a voucher refund form on 0131 331 2831 or print one from www.feta.gov.uk/voucherrefundform.
