TAL Logistics buys Van Hee Transport

Sheffield-based TAL Logistics Group has acquired Gateshead-based transport and delivery specialist Van Hee Transport for an undisclosed sum.

This is part of TAL Logistics' plan to double in size over the next couple of years through multiple acquisitions. Chairman Neil Taylor says: "Van Hee is very highly regarded and has a long tradition in the North-East.

"We have pledged that there will be no redundancies as  a result of the buyout. Our intention is to significantly develop our business across the UK and internationally, which will mean new jobs and opportunities."

TAL Logistics has grown by more than 320% over the last two years and has an annual turnover of £8m.

Taylor adds: "We are sharply focused on continuing to drive the business rapidly forward, and to that end we are interested in discussions with businesses that have turnovers of between £1m and £20m plus."

The TAL Logistics Group consists of TAL Global, TAL Galaxy, TAL Freeway, TAL Gallacher and TAL Eurospecial, each operating within its own niche.Van Hee Transport has a total of 12 vehicles and 25 trailers its turnover is approximately £1m.
