Women have until 31 March to enter the inaugural Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards. Backed by Skills for Logistics (SfL) and supported by Motor Transport, the awards "will shine the spotlight on role models who smash any pre-conceived ideas that the industry is place where only men can make it to the top", according to Everywoman co-founder Maxine Benson. "There is a shortage of female talent working in the transport and logistics industry - and these awards seek to change that," she adds. There are seven categories covering the full scope of the industry:
Entrants can self-nominate, or be nominated by a colleague. Entries will be judged by: Pall-Ex managing director Hilary Devey Isuzu Truck (UK) managing director Nikki King Wincanton sales director UK & Ireland Rebecca Jenkins Transport for London managing director Valerie Todd SfL director of marketing and research Lucinda Ward Everywoman training & development director Toni Eastwood Women in Science & Engineering director Terry Wise and Royal Mail apprenticeship manager Cheryl Simons.
The shortlist in each category will be revealed in early May. The winners will be announced at a gala lunch on 12 June at The Marriott Grosvenor Square, London. SfL's Ward adds: "It is vitally important that women in logistics are recognised for their commitment to the sector." Click here for more information.
