Kent-based haulier Alan Firmin is set to extend its reach into training later in the year. The group currently employs one trainer who works with drivers to ensure they are up to scratch with all the latest legislation as well as regularly checking their driving skills.
However director Paul Denyer says that, with the imminent introduction of the driver CPC, the company was looking to extend its training offerings and sell them to other hauliers. It plans to recruit extra trainers and Denyer says it may even offer Cat C and C+E driver training, but adds the main focus will be the Driver CPC and digital tachographs.
