Mayor of London Ken Livingstone witnessed Sky engineer Michael Moir take delivery of the company's first electric van last week. The 3.5-tonne Smith Edison, which is based on the Ford Transit, has a range of 100 miles.
It will be charged overnight via the mains electricity at Moir's home, which has been switched to the British Gas Zero Carbon electricity plan.
