Anthony Finlayson-Green has been appointed managing director at Cert Octavian, charged with turning the drinks distributor around. Previously general manager of LSG SkyChefs, part of Lufthansa, Finlayson-Green was responsible for turning around the Gatwick business from a £2.7m loss to a £2m profit within two years.
Former managing director Michael Lainas remains as director of the business. Turnover rose from £35.1m in the year to June 2006 to £45.3m in the year to June 2007. However,
the 2006 pre-tax profit of £1.3m became a pre-tax loss of £2.9m as the group was hit with £5m of exceptionals, including costs relating to the departure of former chief executive Jeff Stanton.
