Renault Trucks has increased production at its Blainville-sur-Orne, France plant to satisfy Eastern Europe's insatiable appetite for new trucks. Already this year production has grown from an average of 225 to 276 trucks per day, and Renault says a recent investment of €57m (£44m) at the site means these figures will continue to rise. But it is doing little to alleviate the long wait for new trucks in the UK - where the company is enjoying a significant increase in market share. Operators who place orders for new Premiums and Magnums today will not take delivery before March 2009.
