Culina-Baylis merger is complete

03 April 2008

The merger between hauliers Culina and Baylis was formally completed last week, with Companies House confirming that the new combined company would be called Culina Logistics. The headquarters of the merged company will be at Culina's base at Market Drayton, Shropshire. The merger brings together a chilled specialist (Culina) and an ambient haulier (Baylis).

A spokesman says the two halves of the company will continue in their respective  markets. All Baylis vehicles are being given a Culina livery, though this process has not been completed, the spokesman adds. Baylis started life as a transport company in 1939, while Culina was set up in 1994. The combined company has 1,300 employees and runs 250 tractor units and 550 trailers.
