Following its appearance on TV show Dragons' Den last year, JPM Eco Logistics has had two meetings with its investors and is in the process of taking on another six trucks. Directors Paul Merker and Jerry Mantalvanos gave away a 40% share of the company, which runs its Volvo fleet entirely on bio-diesel, to 'Dragons' Theo Paphitis and Deborah Meaden for an investment of £100,000.
Speaking to MT, director Paul Merker says: "We've so far met with Theo and Deborah a couple of times and had a few bits of advice from them such as changing our brand and logo. They have mainly left us to it, but are there if we need to ask them anything." However, as the company's plans for expansion begin to take off, Merker believes they will get more involved.
"We're looking to keep expanding this year. We've got another six Volvo vehicles coming on board in the next two weeks, which will take our fleet up to 12. We'd like to increase this to 20 by the end of the year."
