Nissan is to take the plunge into the North American light CV market and plans to launch three vehicles in the next three years. The manufacturer will work with Cummins on the development of two diesel engines and ZF Friedrichshafen on automatic transmissions for its LCVs.
Nissan corporate vice-president and head of LCV global business unit Andy Palmer says in the mid-term the company will create a multi-segment product range of vehicles below 8-tonnes GVW.
