Bulmers signs intermodal deal with EWS

21 April 2008

Bulmers Logistics has won a contract with rail-freight operator EWS to support its intermodal operations and help its customers reduce road miles and their carbon footprint. The partnership will allow EWS Network to collect and deliver containers from customers wherever they are based in Britain. It also means EWS can "rapidly increase" its intermodal operations.

EWS says  it expects to operate 50 intermodal trains a day in 2008 and Bulmers is needed to support this expansion. Bulmers commercial director Andrew Spence-Wolrich adds: "With a fleet of over 300 trucks, Bulmers Logistics has the capacity to support EWS Network's intermodal customers as they seek to reduce road miles and their carbon footprint by using road and rail haulage."
