Road Haulage Association (RHA) chief executive Roger King has confirmed that he will step down from the role in May 2009.
King's eight-year tenure at the RHA has seen the organisation battle to persuade the government to tackle soaring fuel costs for hauliers, as well as introduce an increasing number of other services for members such as training.
King says: "The board of the RHA are currently working to create a job description for the role and consider suitable candidates to replace me next year."
