Lincolnshire-based Geoff Gilbert International is considering selling its transport arm to concentrate on its property business. The company says: "Due to increasing competition from European operators, tough legislation and increasing fuel prices, the decision will be taken shortly on the future of the company."
However, the firm has already put 11 trucks and 32 trailers up for auction on 3 May. Meanwhile, Somerset-based Supreme Haulage has become another casualty of soaring cost pressures in the industry, as the eight-truck haulier shut its doors last week.
