Dorset haulier C B Morgan ceases trading, blames fuel cost

29 April 2008

Shaftesbury, Dorset-based haulier CB Morgan has ceased trading blaming soaring costs.

The firm ran 11 trucks on a mixture of general haulage and livestock transport and had been running for 90 years.

A spokesman says: “It was a very, very sad decision to make but looking at the future we decided there was nothing in it for us; we felt we would be working for the Chancellor and not ourselves.”

The firm officially closed its doors last week and all its drivers have found  new jobs.
