General haulier Daily Nationwide Distribution (DND) is on the hunt for acquisition targets to further expand its operations. The firm has placed an advertisement in MT seeking similar companies in the North West and the Beds/Bucks area. Managing director David McDonald, tells MT: "We've decided to advertise our intentions as there seems to be a lot of companies struggling at the moment, which you often only hear about when it's too late."
Established in 1987, DND currently turns over £6m and is looking to acquire a general haulier with turnover of between £2m and £6m. "Ideally we'd like to buy one firm in the North and one in the South," says McDonald. DND has placed similar advertisements over the past few years, with one resulting in the acquisition of Pristine Freight in 2004.
In 2010 the commencement of work on the new Widnes/Runcorn road bridge will force DND to relocate its North West depot as the approach road will go straight through it. "While we don't wish to move, we see this as an opportunity to expand our operation if we can find a suitable purchase," adds McDonald. Any interested parties should contact the firm on 01525 370 888.
