Following the official opening last month of its new 25,000ft² warehouse in Tilbury, Essex, Triple A Transport is considering opening two additional operations. Richard Newbold, managing director of the UK and European logistics firm, tells MT: "We'd like to open a depot in either Yorkshire or Humberside, and also one in Bristol. They would be small mirrors of what we do at our HQ in Tilbury."
According to Newbold, despite times being tough in the transport industry with excessive fuel increases, congestion charging and the LEZ, the firm is still expanding in certain areas, such as warehousing, and increasing its input into the Pall-Ex network.
"When times are hard a company has two choices: either to invest in sales to go after good quality business, or to consolidate and ride out the storm. We have chosen the former and are employing sales staff with the intention of increasing profits in the forthcoming financial year," says Newbold. Founded in 1988, Triple A today enjoys an annual turnover of £5m and has a fleet of 25 vehicles.
